“You can’t manage what you don’t measure”…words we use constantly in the DOJO, but words we should use in every aspect of life! We are constantly changing, growing, and advancing forward-if we are working at it. This journey can seem daunting and endless if we don’t’ stop to take a break every now and then, to REFLECT where we started and how far we have come. Don’t do something for nothing! When you are working hard towards ANY goal, it’s important to keep a check on where you are along the way. Otherwise, how do you know for sure you are getting closer to achieving them? This week…REFLECT on the sequence of events that have led you to today. Celebrate the victories, and keep working hard to create INTENTIONAL consequences that light your soul on fire!

How’s your AMBITION?!

The “W.O.W.” (word of the week) = AMBITION!

When it comes to your goals and getting what you want, how ambitious are you? How about with your health & fitness? Do you have AMBITION? Working in the fitness industry for 18 years, I have found that nearly EVERYONE has ambition, but often lack the persistence necessary to achieve their full potential. Let’s face it, you have lofty goals and great intentions to reach your ideal body weight, to be able to have your full physical capacity going into your golden years, & you know that staying active will keep your mental & physical health thriving. But the reality is that it takes hard work, and persistence to actually bring your ambition to fruition. This week, step outside of the comfort zone. Get comfortable BEING uncomfortable. Train at a higher, or just different capacity. Just say “NO” to the foods that will push you further from your goals. Get a little more SLEEP than you did last week! Let AMBITION guide you to reach a new goal this week!


The Warrior Nutrition Tip: Snack SMART! Pack healthy options. Make sure you stay true to appropriate portion sizes. Be sure you are truly hungry & not just eating because you are bored-or thirsty (Often we misinterpret our body’s signal to hydrate for hunger!) And be sure you are eating your food from a plate (not a bag or serving bowl) to keep you from overeating!

The 2016 Summer Olympics are in full swing. Watching the games, I can’t help but notice one thing that every Olympian athlete has in common….they PERSEVERE! Every athlete has had to overcome great obstacles. They all have a story. They all have persevered when it would have been easier to quit. They found a way…when there didn’t seem to be one. Win or lose, they give their best! These Olympians are no different than you and I. You have obstacles, you have a story, there are many times it would be easier to quit. Win or lose…will you give your BEST?! Let this word inspire you to push forward towards your most challenging goal this week! You’re your best. Your BEST is enough!


The Warrior Nutrition Tip: HYDRATION MATTERS!!! One of the best things you could do for your health = Introduce a morning water ritual. Before you have any other food or drink, start with water. Try lemon juice and water, or a splash of apple cider vinegar, or a ginger and turmeric warm water tea. If you’re having a lot of coffee or alcohol, they’re diuretics, they pull water out of the body, so you need to have more, if you’re working outside or leading an active lifestyle, you also need to drink more water.

The “W.O.W.” = OVERCOME!

This past weekend I have been at an annual TFW summit, and this word has dominated my mindset! Throughout the weekend I have been pushed out of my comfort zone, been asked to do things that-honestly-I wasn’t sure that I was capable of doing, and I have been forced to audit my own health and my business on a very deep level. Pretty uncomfortable, to say the least. But something amazing has happened during this process. I left my comfort zone and took on some pretty big challenges. I had to overcome my fears, limitations, and self-doubt. When I stepped beyond the slightly uncomfortable, I found that I was capable of MORE! I am leaving this summit BETTER than I was before I got here! I now want  to challenge you to OVERCOME an obstacle this week. Wherever it is, dig deep. Take on the fear, lose the self-doubt, and discover a new level within yourself!


The Warrior Nutrition Tip: Forget counting calories, stop stressing about what nutrients are in what foods, keep it simple and EAT THE RAINBOW! The beautiful thing about Mother Nature is that she supplies fruit and vegetables in an array of colors, which means each color of fruit or veg carries its own set of unique disease-fighting nutrients. When you aim to eat the rainbow your body will be receiving a diverse range of these and will know exactly what it needs to do with them on the inside.

We often remain stagnant in life because we don’t dare to leave the comfort zone. We know what has already worked in the past…so we tend to keep doing it. However, the world is in a constant state of change, and so are we. If you want to reach new health & fitness goals, if you want to improve your relationships, if you want to advance in your career…it means you will need to leave the comfort of what you already know & do…to DISCOVER more! This week I challenge you to step beyond the safety of your comfort zone to DISCOVER something new about yourself! Get ready to be amazed!

The “W.O.W.” (word of the week) = CHANGE! Change is as hard…or as easy…as you want it to be. Think something is “hard” and it is. Think something is “easy” and it is. If we make drama then it is just that, but if we make it enjoyable… then it is enjoyable! Poor food, no exercise, negative mindset, too much alcohol, complaining, gossiping, and anticipating feeling like crap causes negative stress on our cells which adapt accordingly. Expect to feel great and you will likely adopt the hourly habits and positive mindset that feeds feeling great. Change is necessary and we cannot escape it…so CHOOSE IT!

Identify & LIVE with purpose this week! We often lose sight of it. The big “WHY” behind our actions. Are you merely going through the motions & HOPING you reach your goals, or are you creating action with PURPOSE to ensure you reach them? When you are true to your PURPOSE…your WHY…you won’t fail!
