The Dailey HEALTH Tip: DON’T SKIP BREAKFAST! Breakfast is important for lowering morning cortisol levels, maintaining metabolism, and decreasing hunger and cravings later in the day. Another important note is that a lack of hunger when you wake up is a sign of issues with cortisol and stress. Cortisol is naturally higher in the morning but here is the issue for most- Stress hormones are secreted in the morning to help you get up and going. Breakfast helps regulate this response. If you skip breakfast, the affect of the stress hormone to get you going will wear off and you become ravenous. For most, skipping breakfast will result in cravings, hunger, and fluctuation in energy later in the day. It can also lead to eating late night.
