Happy Monday!
It’s the LAST week of March! For many of you this means that your Lent sacrifice is nearing the end. After Sunday, you will be able to indulge again…or WILL you? With good intentions, you might have given up a “bad habit”, just to see if you could do it. Now that you have…why not make it a permanent change? If you gave up sodas, a sugary treat, alcohol, or something else that can have adverse effects on your health & wellness goals…you’ve made it this far & survived…ditch it for good! Your body will likely thank you for it! 

The Dailey ANTIOXIDANT BOOSTING Tip: EAT NATURALLY PURPLE OR BLUE FOODS! Darker colors usually indicate a higher antioxidant level. Recommended purple or blue foods include dried plums, blueberries and eggplant. Antioxidants fight against free radicals which contribute to the aging process, heart disease and cancer. These dark foods contain nutrients which include lutein, zeaxanthin, resveratrol, vitamin C, fiber, flavonoids, ellagic acid, and quercetin. These nutrients support retinal health, lower LDL cholesterol, boost immune system activity, support healthy digestion, improve calcium and other mineral absorption, fight inflammation, reduce tumor growth, act as an anticarcinogens in the digestive tract, and limit the activity of cancer cells. Blueberries and dried plums pair well with yogurt. Chopped eggplant is a nice addition to a ratatouille or other stews. Don’t forget purple sweet potatoes as a side dish too! Get your daily dose!
