It’s THURSDAY!
What have you done TODAY that your future will thank you for?!
“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” ~E.E. Cummings
It also takes DISCIPLINE to become your BEST! Take the time each and every day to practice this…and you WILL live your best!
The DAILEY NUTRITION TIP: KNOW HOW TO DECODE LABELS!!! I am so tired of the misinformation that the food industry allows companies to get away with. So many folks-just like you-want to do the right thing and buy the best foods, and are FOOLED into buying crap! If you want to be sure you are eating CLEAN foods, without hormones, pesticides, chemicals, & other unnatural ingredients, know how to decode the labels & “claims” on the package. This article is a really good break-down of what terms mean-in this case, with meat. However, you can apply the same concept to other food groups as well.http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/decoding-label-meat
CLASS UPDATE: Flex at 6pm tonight! It’s not too late to join in on the fun! If high energy is what you crave, there are 2 more Fitness classes tomorrow at 6am & 9:00 am! YES, 9:00!!! Don’t forget we had to bump that class up 30 minutes earlier-just for tomorrow!!
Have a GREAT night!
Peace & Health!

Another Hump Day has come and gone.
We are once again half way to the weekend!
WooHoo for weekends, RIGHT?!
“Do something today your future self will thank you for”. I LOVE this quote, and it is a perfect thought to go along with the “W.O.W.”-DISCIPLINE! It may be the END of this day, but think about these words as you start the day tomorrow. Every day, there will be a forks in the road and choices to make. No matter how hard life pushes you, be willing to stand up and push harder! Start by choosing YOU-even if no one else is! Appreciate what you have. Believe in yourself & your dreams. Be positive. Take action. Ignore negative people. Be proactive. Make time for fun & play! Don’t put something great off till tomorrow if doing it today will make tomorrow BETTER! After all, tomorrow is promised to none none of us…so make today COUNT!
The Dailey CHALLENGE: HOW LONG CAN YOU HOLD A PLANK? When was the last time you challenged this? Sure, you do planks all of the time in your workouts, RIGHT?! But you likely hold it for 30 seconds, a minute at best. So how long is your MAX? The Guinness book of world Records has the longest plank hold at 1hour & 20 minutes!! Check it out: http://beaconnews.suntimes.com/lifestyles/9266334-423/george-hood-breaks-guinness-record-for-plank.html INSANE!!! So what’s YOUR best number???
GET AFTER IT!
Peace & Health!

Hello to my fitness friends!
I hope this email finds you slowly adjusting to the time change. In my opinion, the yawns are well worth the extra hour of daylight! Spring is on it’s way!
The “W.O.W.” (word of the week) is DISCIPLINE…and I am here to CHALLENGE yours! How often are YOU blowing off your exercise program lately? How often are you grabbing fast-food to go, rather than physically making a healthier alternative? Where is your DISCIPLINE? March is THE biggest drop off month when it comes to the New Year’s resolutions & goals! Momentum gets disrupted by kids starting up spring sports, spring break, Easter travels, work travels, etc. Once you succumb to the disruptions, it’s hard to get back on track with health & fitness. RECOMMIT TODAY! Cancel another appointment on your schedule, but NOT your workout! Leave the dishes in the sink or other chores undone, but MAKE TIME to prepare a healthy snack for yourself! You only get one chance to live a healthy life…and it will require DISCIPLINE to live your best!
The Dailey FITNESS Tip: WARM-UP BAREFOOT!!! It’s no secret that I am a big fan of barefoot running & minimalist shoes (for those that are willing and able to give it a try). Whether you think “running” barefoot is good or bad, consider the importance of strengthening good posture AND correcting your foot strike for better mobility with less overall impact. I dug up this old article and hope you will find it worth the read on the subject. Be sure to look at the link for the video about 1/2 way through the article to see a great warm-up activity! It could change the way you run!

CLASS UPDATE: Flex tonight at 6! If you’ve put in some hard work & sweat equity already this week, Flex is a fantastic balance to calm your mind and body. Wednesday, we just have ONE class…6pm Functional Fitness! Let me know if you are coming!

Mon 3/11/13

It’s MONDAY! AND the start to an EXTRAORDINARY week!

Get your mindset RIGHT to take yourself above and beyond what you know is possible. Face adversity head on & know that each challenge in front of you is there for a reason. YOU have what it takes to get to the next level.

The “W.O.W.” is DISCIPLINE! Where can you be more DISCIPLINED in your day to day actions? Pick ONE area to focus on TODAY! Think about your biggest goal that you want to reach, and initiate DISCIPLINE that will push you one step closer to that goal. Remember, striving to get 1% BETTER every day will create a HUGE impact! What will you do today to improve your DISCIPLINE by just 1%?

The Dailey IMMUNE BOOSTING Tip: WHEAT GERM!!! Wheat germ is the part of a wheat seed that feeds a baby wheat plant, so it is full of nutrients. It has zinc, antioxidants, and B vitamins among other vital vitamins and minerals. Wheat germ also offers a good mix of fiber, protein, and some good fat. Substitute wheat germ for part of the regular flour called for in baked goods and other recipes. You can also use toasted wheat germ instead of bread crumbs & crusts for baked goods. My favorite use of wheat germ is to add it to my morning oatmeal- along with a bit of protein powder & chia seeds!

CLASS UPDATE: COMING SOON… NEW WEBSITE & ONLINE CLASS SIGN UP! It will be quick and easy to RSVP for your favorite classes, any day of the week & as far ahead as you want to plan! This will ensure that you get the BEST class experience possible since I will be able to better plan for the number attending one day to the next. Don’t forget there is a 6pm Functional Fitness tonight! Looking forward to a super group & maybe even an outdoor warm-up!

CREATE a great week!

Hey SLEEPY Sunday FUNday fans!

We may have lost an hour of sleep last night, but it’s worth it to have a beautiful spring-like day with an extra hour of daylight today! (Here in Greensboro at least!) I hope I’m not the only one taking advantage of it! Get outside! Take in some fresh air, sunshine, & PLAY! Tomorrow is the start of a brand new week loaded with opportunity to GET BETTER. Where will YOU instigate improvement?

The “W.O.W (word of the week) is DISCIPLINE! Like it or not, DISCIPLINE is the root of success in ANY aspect of life. Ask any highly successful individual how they reached the top, and there is no doubt that DISCIPLINE will be mentioned. Jim Rohn says it best with this quote: “DISCIPLINE is the bridge between goals and accomplishment”. Why can some people reach one goal after another while others “babysit” the same ones indefinitely? It’s simple, DISCIPLINE. This week, put DISCIPLINE into action. Don’t just set goals, ACCOMPLISH them!

The Dailey CHALLENGE: GIVE UP ONE BAD HABIT THIS WEEK! Just for one week, can you give up a bad habit-a vice if you will-that might be keeping you from reaching your biggest health & fitness goal? Give up your daily Latte, the potato chips with lunch, that afternoon “pick me up” sugary snack, booze, etc. I know, Lent is not over yet, and you have already vowed to give up something precious to you…but what would it hurt to add ONE more thing, for just one week? You might be surprised at the result! Give it a try! What do you have to lose?

CLASS UPDATE:

*The Friday 9:30am class will be meeting at 9:00am for a one-time time adjustment! More reminders to come, but if this is a class you regularly attend, please make note of it on your calendar so you don’t miss it!

* Tomorrow we will get a jump start on the day with a 6am FUNCTIONAL FITNESS class…followed by 9:30 & 6pm too! Let me know which class YOU will be attending!

Let’s CRUSH GOALS this week!!

WooHoo for WEEKENDS!

TGIF!

What an amazing week filled with ENTHUSIASM!! I want to send you into the weekend with some great words to keep in mind today, and every day:

Watch your thoughts ; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits..
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

THE DAILEY CHALLENGE: GET OUTSIDE THIS WEEKEND! We are going to be blessed with sunny skies & spring-like temps! Take advantage of it! Go for a loooong walk! Take a run! Hop on your bike & go for a cruise! Whatever floats your boat…just get outside to soak up some Vitamin D & breathe some fresh air!

Don’t forget to turn your clocks FORWARD Sat. night! Lose an hour of sleep…but GAIN an hour of DAYLIGHT!

THANK YOU for being such a bright spot in my week!

Happy Almost-Friday Day!!

How is YOUR week going to end? Will you be doing the victory dance for reaching your TOP 5?! Will you look back on the week with a sense of accomplishment? Will you have learned from any mistakes you made, but be really proud of the good choices you made too? The week is NOT over, and there is still time to ACHIEVE GREATNESS! My business coach reminded me of a very important part of success this week…

“FINISH YOUR DAY BEFORE IT STARTS”! Visualize the outcome you want, then plan & build your day accordingly.

The Dailey NUTRITION Tip: EAT BALANCED MEALS/SNACKS! This sounds like a “no-brainer” but is a tough one, especially for people on-the-go! It requires planning, but then again…doesn’t ANYTHING important? Your health-specifically your NUTRITION, is THE most important thing in your life, yet often the most neglected. Here is a good rule of thumb for EVERY meal, and will have a positive impact on your health & fitness goals. The “perfect plate” to balance blood sugar AND keep you feeling full:

*50% low starch, low-glycemic veggies (crunchy or green ones). These are fiber-rich foods to help reduce glycemic load. You actually get unlimited refills on this side of the plate.

*25% lean and clean protein. A serving size = the size of your palm.

*25% slow-burning carbs like gluten-free whole grains or sweet potatoes.

CLASS UPDATE: BIG KUDOS to the FABULOUS 15 that showed up to the 6am class & ROCKED it in my absence today! They might kill me for this, but I can’t resist sharing the photos that were texted to me this am! I am SO PROUD of everyone! What a TEAM to pull together and make things happen! Thank you Katie for getting everyone in the door & moving! Just a note that this am’s “class” was a freebie since I wasn’t there, so any of you that attended still have one “in the bank” this month! Tonight, 6pm FLEX! If not, there is still one more day of classes…FRIDAY 6am & 9:30am! Who’s coming? I want to plan something INSANELY fun, but need to get a head count!

CREATE your BEST day EVER!

It’s HUMP Day!!!

“In life, you will suffer one of two things. The pain of discipline, or the pain of regret. The pain of discipline weighs ounces; the pain of regret weighs tons.” ~Jim Rohn

A great reminder to make good choices today, and every day! Work HARD today so that you never look back on any of your efforts with REGRET! We can’t undo the past, but we can pave the way for an EXTRAORDINARY future!

The Dailey NUTRITION Tip: EAT MORE SUPER GRAINS! There’s a whole world of grains that many people don’t even realize is out there – each has a unique nutritive benefit, some are even gluten-free! There are 4 grains that top the charts in nutrition & are worthy of adding to your diet: Teff, Millet, Kamut, & Buckwheat. Super grains pack fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals along with carbohydrates (& I’m talking about the good carbs you NEED to eat!). And, of course, you do not need to have Celiac disease or be gluten sensitive to want to broaden your grain intake and diversify from wheat and corn. The US Dietary Guidelines recommend eating at least 6 servings a day of grains – so why not eat better grains that will do more for you?

CLASS UPDATE: Bring your ENTHUSIASM tonight! 6pm. Functional Fitness. Let’s ROCK it! Are YOU coming?!

NO REGRETS!

ENTHUSIASM is irresistible. It’s fun, and joyful, and effective. Find a way to get there. It’s worth it!

The Dailey KICK START YOUR DAY Tip: WARM WATER & LEMON! Adding this at the start of your day can deliver HUGE benefits, all day long! Why this warm lemon water combo? Here are a few good reasons: Boost your immune system; balance the PH in your body; help fight hunger cravings; Aid digestion; it’s a natural diuretic; hydrates the lymph system; & clears the skin…and those are just a few of the great benefits! Just a mug of warm water and the juice of half a lemon will do the trick! Try it tomorrow and see what happens!
