Mon Dailey Mail 4/8/13

MAGNIFICENT MONDAY!
Wow! What a perfect day out (minus the pollen)! Steal ANY time you can get to soak up some fresh air! I took my hour long conference call outside today, and BOY was it a refreshing way to focus on my business! I highly recommend it if possible! 

The “W.O.W.” is INTENTION! How different would your day be if you were completely honest with yourself & took ACTION on every good INTENTION you had? Let’s be honest, we all “lie” to ourselves from time to time- in order to avoid accountability & follow through. Example: “It won’t really make a big impact on my diet if I eat that one donut-besides, I worked out hard this morning so I earned it!” These so called justifications limit your success. Today, and all week long, live by your INTENTION in any aspect of your life you seek to get better! 

The Dailey Health Tip: TO DETOX OR NOT TO DETOX? It’s been a growing phenomena, and I am constantly asked about my thoughts on this subject. “Detoxing” is not something that you DO, it is something that is DONE for you. Your body is already detoxifying 24/7. There is no magic juice or product or plan that is going to help you “detox” – you already are! The best thing you can do to support your liver is to eat a high vegetable diet, year round. 

The DAILEY CHALLENGE: COME OUT TO MU FUNDRAISER THIS SUNDAY! As most of you know, Dailey Fitness has a Relay for Life team every year that gets out in the community and raises money to FIGHT CANCER! This Sunday, 4/14 we’ll be at 1618 Wine Lounge (see attached flyer) from 2-5pm. We have live music from The Windy Hill Trio, a huge silent auction, great wines to taste, food, and even some cornhole & ladder golf games going on too! PLEASE come out for a good cause if cancer is something you’d like to eliminate! 

CLASS UPDATE: Fitness & Flex tomorrow. Let me know which class you are coming to if you haven’t already! I’m plotting & scheming something AWESOME!

Soulful Sunday! 4/7/13

It’s Soulful Sunday!
What a GORGEOUS day in front of us! I hope you have BIG plans to get outside and soak up the beauty of today to feed your soul!
Today, make some plans for the week ahead. Think of what you would like to achieve this week that could set this week apart from all the others. Know that you can do anything you set your mind to. You are the author of your own life. You have the ability to change your life with unlimited potential. As you set your TOP 5 list for the week (top 5 things you most want to achieve this week), set the bar high. Set goals that will earn you “bragging rights” & empower you to do more! 

The “W.O.W.” is INTENTION! A course of action that one intends to follow; an aim that guides action; a determination to act in a certain way. We all have INTENTIONS, and most often they are really good ones! Don’t lose sight of your true intentions this week. Follow them, pursue them, and OWN them! Simply put, DO what you INTEND to this week with everything you do…with nutrition, with exercise, with work, with relationships, with community! As Yoda says, “Do or DO NOT, there is no try”! 

The Dailey MENTAL HEALTH Tip: Do you ever wake with morning anxiety? Check what you have eaten the day before. Caffeine, alcohol and even certain foods like wheat-containing products and sugar can cause anxiety. 

CLASS UPDATE: Monday there are 3 Functional Fitness classes: 6am, 9:30am, & 6pm! If you are making plans to attend, let me know which one you are coming to! Spring Break is over, and it’s time to get back at it with INTENTION!

It’s Thursday!
The weekend is almost here! 

The “W.O.W.” (word of the week) is CREATE! What have you done this week to CREATE a better version of you? Have you procrastinated the whole idea? Are you just feeling unsure of how to get the ball rolling? It’s not too late to CREATE CHANGE TODAY! Take a small step by just taking action with one idea…it might snowball into many actions that accumulate into something grand! Think of the area of your life in which you MOST want to see change & go for it! You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain! 

The Dailey SNACK Tip: I get asked constantly about ideas for healthy snacks you make/grab on the go! Here is a great idea to use for a post workout snack, a mid-day pick me up, or just any time you need a refresher: In a shaker or blender put Coconut Milk, Walnuts, & throw in some Cinnamon, Cardamom (in the ginger family), & Vanilla to suit your taste. Throw in some ice & you’re ready to go! Don’t have time for a blended treat? Just let the walnuts settle to the bottom & enjoy a nice crunch in the last swig you take! 

CLASS UPDATE: Flex tonight, and the class should be small! If you have been wanting to check out this Egoscue based class, this is the PERFECT day to do it! Small classes mean extra 1-1 attention & questions answered! Tomorrow is FUN FRIDAY!!! We have 6am & 9:30am functional fitness classes, and we are going to throw in a bit of extra FUN with our hard work & sweat equity! Let me know if you are coming to either so I will know how many to plan for! 

CREATE the time in each and every day to MOVE MORE, DRINK MORE WATER, & EAT SMART!

WooHoo for WEDNESDAY!!!
What a day! We are half way through the week. The sun is OUT! Flowers & trees are budding, even BLOOMING! Savor this moment & get outside today – tomorrow, a completely different weather prediction.

One of the best ways to be successful, is to surround yourself with successful people! No matter what you are trying to get better at (nutrition, fitness, career, parenting, knitting) seek out others in that area that are GREAT at it. If you are trying to lose weight, be sure to make more lunch dates with your most healthy friend or co-worker-learn from them. If you want to be more active, hang out with others that stay active-get ideas from them. If you want to be the best in your industry/career, get mentored from someone that is already just that-emulate them! It really IS that simple! 1% BETTER every day! 

The Dailey HEALTH Tip: Foods that are slippery like onions, leeks, okra and cinnamon have protective benefit for the gut. These slippery compounds coat the lining of the digestive tract, forming a protective barrier that soothes irritated tissues. For example, put cinnamon in your fresh (not packaged) oatmeal in the morning & let it sit. It will release the slippery compounds giving you extra digestive boosting benefits! 

CLASS UPDATE: It’s Spring Break…and we are missing a few of our regulars this week. Let’s crush some extra calories for them-the rest of this week! Help me plan tomorrow’s classes by letting me know which class you are coming to Thursday: 6am, 9:30am, & 6pm. As of now, I only have ONE confirmed coming to the 9:30am class! Have I forgotten YOU were coming?!
6pm Functional Fitness tonight! I predict a parking lot warm up! It’s just too nice to spend the whole class inside!

Tues Dailey Mail 4/2/13

It’s a sun-shiny TUESDAY out there!
Recharge your batteries and kick the afternoon energy slump by sticking your face outside to soak up a few minutes worth of Vitamin D! 

The Dailey CONSUMPTION Fact: The average American eats 31.5 pounds of cheese and SIX HUNDRED POUNDS of non-cheese dairy products EACH YEAR, according to the Food and Drug Administration. No wonder this nation is so constipated…and OVERWEIGHT!!! 

CLASS UPDATE: BIG APOLOGIES for anyone that might not have gotten the memo that yesterday’s classes were canceled! SO SORRY! If you were one of the few that showed up on “autopilot”, hope you still got a good workout anyway. It’s been a GREAT start to the week of classes with 2 awesome fitness groups! Way to CRUSH it! Tonight, FLEX is at 6pm! Come soothe what ails you! 

The “W.O.W.” is CREATE! We all have the potential to CREATE greatness, every day. It’s a choice we make when we put forth effort to see a project to it’s end, to go after a goal, to inspire & encourage someone else, etc. CREATING greatness is just a bit of “AND THEN SOME” when you could just as easily quit. What will you do today to CREATE greatness in your life or someone you know?

Aril FOOL’S Day!

It’s APRIL FOOLS Day!!!
I want to hear some funny stories of how you fooled or got fooled today! 

The “W.O.W.” is CREATE! Have you ever noticed that CREATE & REACT have the same letters? Two very different words, yet both symbolize how we live. Do you spend more of your time CREATING or REACTING to life? Think about that for a minute. This is a very busy time of year. It’s spring break for many! We are in the thick of tax season. Youth sports are in full swing. Graduations are quickly approaching. How do you manage the stress, chaos, & insanity of the world you live in? This week, I want to encourage you to CREATE the best outcome possible. Focus on the 1 or 2 areas of your life that you’ve neglected over the last month, and CREATE a different ending for April. 

The Dailey Health Tip: So – Is there is a chance that you overindulged a bit on candy or other tidbits yesterday and are feeling not at your best today? If so, one of the simplest and best things to do to help you feel better is to drink a lot of water today, make sure you get veggies with every meal, and take a nice long walk outdoors. 

CLASS UPDATE: GAME ON tomorrow! We have 2 fitness classes in the am, and a wonderful & soothing flex class in the pm! Come to one or BOTH for a balanced day of exercise. The Tues & Thurs classes have gotten quite large on average, so PLEASE let me know with a quick RSVP if you are attending any class tomorrow! HUGE help so I will know how much “FUN” to pull out of the closet tomorrow morning!

Just a reminder that there will be NO CLASSES/PRIVATE SESSIONS on Monday 4/1. 

Enjoy the day & CREATE your own exercise! We’ll be back at it again on Tuesday with the regular scheduled classes & appointments!

Happy ALMOST Weekend!

Whether March has brought you great success or great stress, embrace it, for both help us grow to be stronger. Rather than asking “WHY” to everything that might be going wrong, look a little deeper to see if there is something valuable that you are missing. Life is out of our control most of the time, so try to hold on and enjoy the ride…wherever it takes you! 

The Dailey WEEKEND Challenge: DISCONNECT! Slow down & enjoy the people around you. Be 100% PRESENT in each moment. Turn the phone off & refrain from checking those emails for at least 24 hours. Enjoy a few meals engaged in conversation without the distraction of TV’s, iPads, & noisy devices. PLAY!
Tomorrow-the LAST classes of March! We have 6am & 9:30am Functional Fitness…and it’s FUN FRIDAY! Sure we’ll likely break a sweat and do a little work too, but the goal is FUN tomorrow…so come one-come all! End the week & the month on a positive note! (I promise no hurricanes!)
Don’t forget…NO CLASSES ON MONDAY!
