QUIT something today!

Posted on

As promised…

Today (& all week long), I am sharing some powerful motivation from my mentor, Martin Rooney-founder of TFW. This is the first of several “LIES” that you may have been duped into believing-holding you back from YOUR best success yet. What will you QUIT today to get closer to your goals?

Lie #1: Quitters Never Win (from Martin Rooney)
The concept of “never quitting” is misleading. You were probably taught that quitting is a bad thing and a “never say die” attitude is not only to be sought after, but a secret to success. On the contrary, never quitting can also be the fast track to failure and mediocrity.  I am not saying you should not persevere toward goals.  Successful people do stay the course with behaviors that lead them to success.  These successful people, however, also quit the behaviors that are holding them back!
If you want six-pack abs, there are things you have to stick with and others you have to quit. For instance, you will have to stick with training and eating right, but quit all the bad habits that are stopping you from getting leaner.  Beside your personal fitness, you can apply quitting to your studies, your job, and your relationships and enjoy more success.
I advise removing one type of food from your diet, a few hours of television to get in an extra training session or gossiping with negative people. Start small, start today, be a quitter.
Rooney Upgrade:  Winners Quit All The Time

The Dailey NUTRITION Tip: QUIT SUGAR! I’m talking about anything containing high fructose corn syrups, dextrose, maltodextrin, and any other word ending in “-ose” or syrup. Best bet, eat REAL food that doesn’t have an ingredient list & you won’t have to worry about harmful ingredients sabotaging your best efforts!

QUIT something today!!!

Are “LIES” holding you back from success?!

Happy Monday Dailey Fitness Warriors!!!

I hope you had an amazing weekend recharging your batteries and getting your focus SET for greatness this week. The “W.O.W.” = BELIEVE…and I hope you will embrace this word by BELIEVING in yourself & getting 1% BETTER each day.

One of the incredibly inspiring coaches in my life is my mentor Martin Rooney (owner/creator of TFW). This week I am going to share a series of Rooney’s words of wisdom that have made a positive impact on my thought process…in hopes for the same for YOU! His words tie directly in with our “W.O.W” & how your belief system & mindset will determine your destiny!

“Your thoughts collectively form your attitude and your attitude ultimately forms your future. Successful people begin each day with more empowering thoughts than that of the less successful. Have thoughts of success and your imagination will lead you to take successful actions.  Start each day with mediocre thoughts and mediocre actions are the only possible outcome.  But why do you think the way you do?  Most of your thoughts were influenced or “programmed” by someone or some experiences in your life.  Whether the “programmers” were your parents, teachers, coaches or friends, your thought process has been shaped by someone or something else.  By recognizing this, you can challenge the way you think and actually “reprogram” your thoughts.  This “upgrade” process is a skill that you can learn.  If you change your thoughts, these new thoughts will lead to a new level of imagination and, therefore, different results.” ~Martin Rooney
Over the next few days I am going to write about & share Rooney’s thought process about some of the “LIES” that we have been told that might be keeping YOU from reaching your full potential. By “upgrading” these “lies”-you will become empowered to make positive changes to your personal fitness, bank account and relationships. Stay tuned and read your “Dailey Mails” this week if you need motivation to improve any aspect of your life!

Tomorrow’s “Lie”=Quitters Never Win!

The Dailey FRESH BREATH Tip: Chew on a clove or two (the whole ones, not ground) instead of gum/mints. The sugar alcohols & fake sugars found in many gums and mints can contribute to gas and bloating. Clove not only smells lovely and sort of exotic, it also happens to be great as an analgesic for tooth or gum pain. Those strong aromatic oils you smell? They not only dull pain but are antimicrobial as well and leave you with great breath.

CREATE your best week EVER!

The “W.O.W.” = BELIEVE!

The “W.O.W.” (word of the week) = BELIEVE! It doesn’t matter how many others believe in you if you don’t believe in yourself! Achieving even the smallest of goals starts with the belief that it is possible. This week, get your mindset RIGHT. When it comes to your health & fitness- BELIEVE that you can & will do something amazing, above and beyond what you have done up to this point. Make it happen!

“Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as you mind lets you. What you believe, you can achieve.” –Mary Kay Ash

Thoughtful Thursday…

Thoughtful Thursday…

The “W.O.W” = SIMPLICITY! This story is a reminder to take care of the most important things first. Identify the rocks, the pebbles, and the sand in your life. SIMPLIFY and put your focus where it is needed the most!

A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2 inches in diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up the remaining open areas of the jar.

He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “Yes.”

“Now,” said the professor, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things – your family, your partner, your health, your children – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter – like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else, the small stuff.”

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party, or fix the disposal.”

“Take care of the rocks first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

“If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way”~ Napoleon Hill
We cannot be great at everything. However, always doing the small things extraordinarily well is the habit that brings you the opportunity to do big things great!

Are you eating “suspect” ORGANIC foods…

“Success is a state of mind. If you want success, start thinking of yourself as a success.”

~Dr. Joyce Brothers

The “W.O.W.”(word of the week) = SIMPLICITY! Sometimes changing your life & reaching your ultimate success is as SIMPLE as shifting your mindset. Thoughts become things…so choose the right ones!

Just because it’s organic, doesn’t mean it’s HEALTHY! Check out this list of foods that could be suspect. A couple of them may surprise you! http://livingmaxwell.com/have-we-been-misled-5-organic-foods-that-should-make-you-think-twice

Wherever you are today, be sure to get in your workout. An investment of 30-60 minutes in YOUrself will pay huge dividends.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!

Eat MAGNESIUM rich foods!!!

Posted on

The “W.O.W.” = SIMPLICITY. Unfortunately our society will tend to spend more time trying to take simple ways OUT of doing something, rather than SIMPLY working for that something. For instance, when given the opportunity to take an elevator/escalator vs. using the stairs…which do you pick? When was the last time you carried your suitcase instead of using the wheels to roll it? When given the choice to enter/exit a building through the automatic doors vs. the manual door right next to it…which do you choose? Push mower or riding mower? Microwave or stir the pot on the stove? Carry the groceries to the car or push the cart? The caloric output and muscle activation for one day is the cumulative sum of hundreds of those decisions. SIMPLY choose the slightly more difficult way & take honor in the opportunity & ability to move!

The Dailey NUTRITION Tip: EAT MAGNESIUM RICH FOODS! Magnesium is essential to good health, yet many of us don’t get enough! Just 400 mg/day can keep fatigue at bay and stave off muscle spasms, migraines, anxiety, high blood pressure, osteoporosis & more! You can get 100% of your daily requirement from food: Spinach, kale, swiss chard, pumpkin seeds, brazil nuts, almonds, fish (mackerel/tuna), beans & lentils, brown rice, quinoa, avocado, & bananas…are all great sources!

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction.”

~E.F. Schumacher

“The difference between Excellence & Mediocrity is COMMITMENT!”

It’s time to break the summer slump! If you are struggling to reach your goals, falling short on your exercise program, getting slack with your nutrition, burning the candle at both ends between work/travel & not getting enough rest….it’s time to CHANGE! It is NEVER too late to make better choices and choose to take things to the next level.

The Dailey RECIPE: MANGO AVOCADO SALSA! Check out this HEALTHY weekend treat! Perfect to serve up on a hot summer day. (Mango is proven to be more effective in reducing body fat and blood glucose than certain drugs aimed at doing exact same thing. Avocado contains compounds that inhibit & destroy cancer cells!)

Ingredients:
– 2 mango of any variety, chopped into small cubes
– 1 avocado, chopped into cubes
– 2 tomatoes, diced finely
– 1/2 cup cucumber, chopped into small cubes
– 1/4 red onion, diced finely
– 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped finely
– 1 clove garlic, crushed
– Juice of 1 lime
– 1-2 tbsp. dulse (this is a sea vegetable and can be found in health food stores or Asian markets)

Add these ingredients into a large bowl. You may add some Himalayan sea salt if you please (I do not consume salt, so I do not add this) and some cracked black pepper. Let this mixture sit for a little to let the flavors blend (you may let it sit in the fridge over the day, or on the counter for an hour or so). You can eat it as it, or you can use zucchini slices and other vegetables to use as “chips” to dip into the salsa.

Tomorrow (Sat): 10am “DEALER’S CHOICE” fitness class is going to be FUN, DYNAMIC, and the perfect way to get your mind and body synchronized & focused on EXCELLENCE! Only 3 signed up…so if you know you need some accountability and need to get your body moving…please join us! If you can’t sign up online, just email me and let me know you are IN!

Happy WEEKEND!
